Building a new house - follow the project!

After an intense year of construction Kristina and I can celebrate Christmas in the new house.

We have decorated for Christmas in every window.

Welcome to the kitchen! After months of construction, we have taken the next step. This weekend we installed the first kitchen cupboards!

This weekend I had help from both my son and my grandson in the house. It's really nice to work together!

Right now we are working on the second floor which, among other things will be washrooms and a large room for children and grandchildren. We are a big family and we want to have the opportunity to meet them all at once!

So many yellow chanterelle mushrooms that light up the forests, Kristina and I have picked gallons and cleaned for hours. And it is certainly worth all the trouble when you can finish your day with a late mushroom sandwich in good company. But now it is time to start working inside the house, we hope to celebrate Christmas under the new roof. Here we are making heat in the bathroom floor.

First picture of our house from this side, we've just finished painting. Now we take a short summer vacation and then we will continue the work indoors.

Now it's finally starting to look like a real house! Many people walking by praises the color we chose and the blue tone really fits into the area.

In a few days, it's time for my carpenter Max to take summer vacation. We have a lot of work to do before that.

In the middle of summer heat, we have begun to paint the house. The windows are in white, the house in blue.

To get the floor straight is not easy. We use liquid filler.

There are many wires in a building, now they are hanging down everywhere. Soon, of course, everything will be built in, one of the benefits of building yourself is that you know how everything is connected behind the walls and ceiling.

We took paint samples from a piece of the old facade and came up with a blue color. We have probably decided on the top, darker color. The painters are in place and has started to oil the facade.

This panels will be inside ceiling in the house. But first I treat the knots in the wood with a special oil so that it will not crack.

There are a lot of work to paint all the mouldings in the house. This will be base moldings - in white.

It was blue skies and sunshine the day we installed the solar panels.
